A promotional item was provided to me for today’s discussion. The host for this event is Still Blonde after all these Years . When I started blogging, I was green. Green like the piece of wood that won’t burn on the fire kind of green. Oh, and I was full of myself too! I had tons of ideas for blog posts, recipes and crafts I would share with the world. Ah, but how exactly did one share this wondrous content?
Well, silly, you share it on your website of course. Um, OK, but how does one set up a website? I had no clue. Thankfully, I had friends who were willing to help me set up my blog. They started asking me about logos and tag lines and fonts and headers. My head was swimming! Were they speaking Greek? Pretty much! My friends walked me through everything and Kicking it with Kelly became a reality in April 2015.
Now my daughter is in a similar position as I was a few years ago. She wants to go into business for herself. She is a master hair stylist and colorist (mommy brag), ready to take the hair styling world by storm. Of course she called the only expert she knew. The one person who could guide her to easily build a customer website. Me! OK, so I am not an expert, but it turns out, you don’t need to be one with the new GoDaddy GoCentral Website Builder! Now I get to be a hero! Yay Me! Er, Yay GoDaddy, I mean!
You guys! I have not had this much fun on the Interweb in a while! Chelsea gave me total carte blanche to build her new GoCentral Website Builder! It was so easy, a kid could almost do it. And if your kids are as tech savvy as mine, they totally could! And now through 4/10/17, you can get a *1 month free trial of GoDaddy’s GoCentral Website Builder.
So, the first thing you need to do is create your account. Next, you will choose which type website you want (Personal, Business, Business Plus or Online Store.) For Chelsea, I chose the Business option. Now you will tell GoDaddy GoCentral what your site will be about and what you want to call it. Now the magic happens! Several mock-ups from your chosen industry will appear. You can chose one of those or you can upload your own. Either way, it’s super easy.
Next, you get to play with your header, colors, fonts, and text. You can create an “About Me” paragraph, a “Generate Excitement” line and then “Close The Deal” to get them totally hooked! I was pleasantly surprised at the number of options. You can choose from several fonts. And not some boring font, but some fun ones! Honestly, you can build your site in less than an hour, unless you are like me and like to try every font, in every color! That took me a bit of time (hee hee.) And the best part is you don’t need to know any special coding or HTML. Whew!
If you like, you can also set up SEO, social media, and/or emails to go with your site. I did this for Chelsea and I would recommend it. It makes it so user friendly. And before you know it, you are ready to preview your new GoCentral website! If everything is to your liking (you can always go back and edit and update anytime), you are ready to publish your website! I know, right?! Easy, peasy! You have a professional, well put together website! And you can make changes right from your smartphone, which is brilliant!
And guess where I got my domain name and who handles my web hosting for Kicking it with Kelly is with? You guessed it! GoDaddy! I LOVE them! In two years, I have NEVER had an issue with my site.
