With six kids, you can imagine my parents loved having the break from the chaos! We are from the south, so we drink a lot of iced tea. My grandparents always had a pitcher of Grilled Peach And Brown Sugar Iced Tea. While my sister and I would enjoy a cold glass of the grilled peach and brown sugar iced tea, my grandparents would have a glass of Grilled Peach And Brown Sugar Bourbon Iced Tea. Every time we would visit it was their drink du jour!
Now that I am older, I find sitting in the backyard hammock while it sways back and forth a real treat. That is, when I can get it when the kids aren’t swinging in it! Don’t you love the time of day when the sun shimmers through the tree leaves as it is setting? That is when I reach for my adult version of my grandparents favorite drink. My Grilled Peach And Brown Sugar Bourbon Iced Tea.
When you take the first sip of the Grilled Peach And Brown Sugar Bourbon Iced Tea, it is bliss! I love the taste of the sweet tea and those grilled peaches. Then you get the subtle heat from the bourbon. There is no cocktail that tops this summer drink! Trust me when I tell you. It will become one of your signature summer cocktails! And if you are not a drinker, just skip the alcohol. You still have one of the most flavorful an refreshing glasses of iced tea you have ever had!
I am going to let you in on one of my secrets to my Grilled Peach And Brown Sugar Bourbon Iced Tea. I puree the grilled peaches and place them into the ice cubes trays and freeze them overnight. In the morning, I add them to my sweet iced tea that has been in the fridge overnight. I want to make sure the tea is nice and strong, but not too strong!
When the ice cubes are ready, they go right into my glass. My glass of choice is a mason jar. Cuz that is how we do it in the south ya’ll! My other secret? Instead of white sugar in our tea, we use brown sugar. It adds a mellow flavor that pairs perfectly with the bourbon. When you are ready to make your Grilled Peach And Brown Sugar Bourbon Iced Tea, you want to layer your ingredients. This tea pairs perfectly with my Cheeseburger Taco Bake!
First, add your peach puree ice cubes in your glass. Next add your bourbon and then pour in the tea. Stir gently to let the flavors marry, but not too much. Garnish with a slice of grilled peach to the side of the glass and enjoy! I love lemons, so I add lemons to mine as well. This is totally optional. If you have fresh mint for your Grilled Peach And Brown Sugar Bourbon Iced Tea, that would taste fantastic!
Be sure to serve your tea in these mason jar glasses
or these classic iced tea glasses.
Do you enjoy a cold glass of iced tea? What is your favorite way to make yours? I would love to hear in the comments below!
