This is a sponsored post. However, all opinions about Poise ® Impressa ® Sizing Kit and Poise ® Impressa ® Pack and my 10 ways you can have the best life after 40 are all mine. For me, approaching 40 was terrifying! I felt life was passing by way too fast. I had a husband, three kids and was starting college for the first time. I decided instead of fighting getting older, I would embrace it! This is how I did that!
- Have A Makeover: When you hit 40, wearing crop tops and mini skirts is behind you. Now is time to dress for your age. This does not mean you have to wear leisure suits and orthopedic shoes! Get yourself a makeover. Get a new hairstyle and talk to a personal stylist. Get a rocking look that embraces a more mature lifestyle.
- Exercise: Yes, as we get older, this is more important than ever. Your fitness needs will change as you get older. Stop by your gym and talk to the personal trainer on staff. Ask them to design an exercise program that will be suitable for the 40+ crowd. Ladies, this means more weight bearing exercises for strong bones!
- Travel: This is something I put off because I had kids. I decided there was nothing wrong with having a weekend to myself. I decided to explore San Francisco. It was a city I always wanted to explore. It inspired me to do it more often!
- Learn A New Language: When I was in college, I took Spanish. It was so much fun. I am not fluent, but I can carry on a conversation. It will come in handy when I visit Mexico!
- Do Something Crazy: Getting older does not mean you need to act like you are 100! Do something you have always wanted to do but were afraid to. I decided to do karaoke on a business trip. So.Much.Fun!
- Buy A New Car: When I was younger, money was tight and my credit sucked. As I got older, these areas improved. I hated driving old beater cars around. A few years ago, my husband and I decided to take the leap and buy a new car. Best.Decision.Ever.
- Change Your Diet: I wish I could eat all the cheesI put off doing this. Not a smart idea. We can die tomorrow or not until we are 99. Regardless of when you go, make sure you take care of your family. Life insurance is the nest way to do that.
eburgers and hot fudge sundaes I wanted with no ill effects. Those days are gone. Research has found eating a plant based diet is a smart choice. It helps you maintain a healthy weight and avoid many health issues many of us face as we get older. And it is cheaper too! - Look Forward: I spent a lot of my life looking backwards. Nothing good comes from revisiting events in your life you regret. Instead, look forward. Have fun. Dance, drink good whiskey, and stop worrying about what people think of you.
- Enjoy Your Kids: They weren’t kidding when they said your kids grow up in a blink. The older they get, the more independent they are. This means the less time we tend to spend together. Don’t fall into that trap. Grab your kids and do something they want to do. Take them to a concert, the water park or the amusement park. Remember, the activity doesn’t matter as much as the time you are together. And if you are a woman with LBL, do not let that stop you! I don’t! I use Poise ® Impressa ®.
- Get Life Insurance: I put off doing this. Not a smart idea. We can die tomorrow or not until we are 99. Regardless of when you go, make sure you take care of your family. Life insurance is the nest way to do that.
I have had Light Bladder Leakage (LBL) for years. It stopped me in my tracks from doing the things I enjoyed when I was younger. It seemed every time I turned around, whatever I was doing would make me leak. It didn’t matter if I was laughing, crying, coughing or jumping on the trampoline. I decided to live with it. I mean, pee happens, right?!
I stopped being active. I stopped playing with the kids. I stopped enjoying life. We only get one life to live and I sure wasn’t going to let my LBL interfere with it. Pee happens? Yes, but not while I am enjoying life! I was going to live my best life. For me, that meant a pad free life with Poise ® Impressa.
Are you familiar with the Poise ® Impressa ® products? They are revolutionary in the world of managing your LBL! They are bladder supports. They are a soft flexible, internal device with a non-absorbent outer cover. They comfortably stops leaks so you can keep going all day and keep your focus on what is important. I get mine from Walmart in the feminine care area. If you have not tried the Poise ® Impressa ® products, they come in three sizes. To determine the size for your needs, buy the Poise ® Impressa ® Sizing Kit.
Once you know the size you need, you can purchase your Poise ® Impressa ® Pack. Once you have your Poise ® Impressa ® bladder supports, you can tell LBL to take a hike! Now YOU can take a hike and not worry about having a little pee accident! Because you can wear them for up to 12 hours, you don’t need to always know where the bathroom is to change your pad. With Poise ® Impressa, you can regain that confidence that your light bladder leakage took away!
Want even better news? You can save on your Poise ® Impressa ® purchase in the form of a rebate from ibbotta! Are you a member of iBotta? If not, head over to their website and join! It is free and a great way to earn money back on products you already purchase! Tell LBL to take a leap and get your Poise ® Impressa ®!
Do you have bladder leakage issues? What activities has it kept you from enjoying? I would love to know! Please share below!

August 24, 2017 at 5:55 pmI don’t have leakage issues, but I know it’s probably just a matter of time. It seems like women were practically physiologically designed to suffer from this issue eventually.

August 25, 2017 at 7:32 pmI always feared turning 40. I had so many things I wanted to accomplish by then. So, when it came to be that year, nothing went as it should have, at least in my mind. Some things I was accepting of, others, I couldn’t. So, now at 42, I have made it my life to work through the things which held me back and accomplish the things I physically am capable of.

September 20, 2017 at 12:11 pmSo many good thoughts here! I recall when we were newlyweds, a neighbor who sells insurance came to visit to talk to us about life insurance. We thought it was dumb way to spend money when we didin’t have much. Now that I’m older, I know many people who lost their spouse and didn’t have life insurance, and now have a really hard life.
Mary Songer says
September 25, 2017 at 4:06 pmIt’s wonderful that women can go online and talk about issues like this. Lets face it. This isn’t a topic we’re likely to just bring up. But it is something that a lot of us deal with as we get older.

July 20, 2018 at 12:28 pmGood advice for all of us as we age. You don’t realize until something happens, like a bad fall, that your body doesn’t heal as fast or react the same way it did when you were a kid. I have a lot more aches and pains today.
