The kids and I have sensitive and fair skin, so the sun can be brutal. As a mom, my job is to protect my kids. That includes keeping them safe from the harsh rays of the sun. We want to have fun in the water fountains and enjoy a picnic. We want to enjoy my Strawberry Chicken Salad Sandwich Wraps, not worry about getting a sunburn!
We cannot leave the house without a good sunscreen. Our sunscreen of choice is Blue Lizard® Australian Sunscreen. Blue Lizard® was originally made in Australia, but is now made right here in Tennessee! At the beginning of the summer, we stock up on the Blue Lizard® Sensitive. In addition to the Sensitive formula, you can buy the Blue Lizard® Sport, Face and Baby. The Blue Lizard® Baby and Sensitive are paraben, chemical and fragrance-free. Before using sunscreen on a baby 6 months or younger, consult with your pediatrician.
I love that Blue Lizard Australian Sunscreen® is now available at Walmart! It is one of our favorite places to shop! The Blue Lizard® products were easy to locate. They were in the seasonal Sun Zone, near the health and beauty area, towards the front of the store. If you don’t spot your Blue Lizard® products right off, be sure to ask your Walmart manager for help!

It will change from white to blue (or pink for Baby) when exposed to harmful UV sunlight.
The kids and I love to visit the The Court of Flags Fountains at the World’s Fair Park here in Knoxville. The interactive fountains are the perfect way to have fun and stay cool. It is so fun to run through those water fountains! I love that the kids and I can enjoy our time in the water and not worry about getting burned by the sun.

Although the kids and I use the Blue Lizard® Sensitive, you may choose to use another formula. All the Blue Lizard® formulations are mineral-based and contain Zinc Oxide. The Face is oil-free and the Sport is super water resistant. The Sport formula meets the Australian standards of staying on 240 minutes of whirlpool water. Whoa! That is pretty rigorous! Be sure to apply Blue Lizard to dry skin, 15 minutes before you head out into the sun. In order to ensure you get the SPF protection you want, re-apply a minimum of every two hours.
