Easy Chocolate Dipped Halloween Popcorn Balls Recipe
I am so dang ready for fall, aren’t you? We live in the south and our temperatures are still in the upper 80’s, but are supposed to start dropping soon. My easy chocolate dipped Halloween popcorn ball recipe gets me in the mood for fall and Halloween.
My kids could eat these popcorn balls every day if I let them. They have a great crunch, a sticky factor and the melted chocolate and sprinkles give it an added level of sweetness.

If you need to bring a snack to a Halloween party or school event, this Easy Chocolate Dipped Halloween Popcorn Balls recipe is perfect. Kids and grown ups alike will fall in love with this twist on the classic recipe.
You can also make this Popcorn Balls recipe at Christmas, using white chocolate and Christmas colored sprinkles. Wrap them individually in clear cellophae wrap with a holiday ribbon and they make the cutest little gift.
Easy Chocolate Dipped Halloween Popcorn Balls Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 package (12 oz.) chocolate chips, melted
- 1 package (14 oz.) soft caramels
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 12 cups popped popcorn
Instructions
- Pop the popcorn, place in a large bowl and set aside.
- Unwrap caramel candy and add to medium size sauce pan. Add butter and water and cook over medium-low heat and stir until melted and smooth.
- Remove mixture from heat and pour over the popcorn and mix until popcorn is thoroughly coated.
- Let stand for a few minutes to cool.
- While the popcorn cools, melt your chocolate chips in the microwave. Set timer for 30 seconds, stir and repeat until smooth.
- ow for the fun part! Get the kids to help! Grease your hands with butter and shape the popcorn into balls about the size of a softball.
- Stick a wooden Popsicle stick in each popcorn ball, dip each popcorn ball into melted chocolate, and roll in the sprinkles.
- Place on waxed paper until chocolate is cooled and set.
