Sausage And Gravy Biscuit Casserole Recipe
This is a sponsored post and I was compensated. However, all opinions are 100% mine. When I was growing up, my mom always made a huge meal on Sunday.
No matter where we were, or what we were doing, we almost never missed this amazing meal. Did you have this when you were growing up? What did your mom serve?
I am so happy to see that the tradition of a big Sunday dinner with the whole family is becoming popular once again. Planning out a new menu every week for the big Sunday meal can be quite a challenge.
But it doesn’t have to be. Sunday Suppers: Simple, Delicious Menus for Family Gatherings by Cynthia Graubart can do all the work for you.
With over 50 main recipes this cookbook puts them together to make full meals. Find main dishes paired with sides, appetizers, drinks, and desserts.
You can get meals like Fall Chicken Casserole with Fresh Herb Spoon Rolls, Tart Cherry Crisp for dessert or the Sausage And Gravy Biscuit Casserole Recipe I made. Sunday Suppers is Cynthia Graubart’s eighth cookbook.

When it is cold outside, I crave comfort food. What about you? What do you want to eat when the temperatures are low? I love anything I can make in a casserole dish!
And it needs to have some carbs and lots of cheese in it too! Are you with me on that? When it snowed last week, Caitlin and I decided to make this Sausage And Gravy Biscuit Casserole Recipe from Cynthia’s book.
I made a slideshow video for you with the step by step directions.
What attracted me to this recipe was the photo. The next thing I noticed was how simple it was to make. I usually have all of these ingredients, so it was a no brainer when it came to deciding if I would make this recipe or not.
I am from the south, so biscuits and gravy is on just about any breakfast menu you can find. Now this Sausage And Gravy Biscuit Casserole Recipe is permanently on mine!
I did make a few adjustments to Cynthia’s recipe. My family does not like green onions, so I omitted those. Also, we love cheese. Did I mention that already? hee hee hee! I doubled the cheese from .75 cup to 1.5 cups of cheese.
In my Sausage And Gravy Biscuit Casserole Recipe, I added half of the cheese to the first layer and the remaining cheese was sprinkled on top. I would also recommend making twice as much gravy.
When you bake this Sausage And Gravy Biscuit Casserole Recipe, it soaks up a lot of the gravy. My husband said he would have loved to have extra gravy to pour over it. Great idea! Who doesn’t love extra gravy?!
This is honestly one of my favorite recipes I have ever made! All Caitlin kept saying was, “Get that in my pie hole immediately!” She hates to wait until I take all my pictures. Can you believe she was sneaking bites before my photo shoot was completed? Yes, it is that good!

January 27, 2018 at 12:37 pmSunday suppers we’re when my family had the most time to come together. We often had roast or a meat as a main dish with lots of veggies and potato based sides. Those were good times. Now that my children are coming out of the toddler age I too am trying to do more large family suppers.

January 27, 2018 at 3:15 pmEvery Sunday my grandmother would cook a ham while the rest of us were at church. Afterward all my aunts, uncles and cousins would come over for dinner. I would love to start something like that for my family.

January 27, 2018 at 6:54 pmGrowing up, we never had very many family get-togethers; however, when I met my husband, his family had them after church. I enjoyed being able to bring desserts and such. They always made my father-in-law look forward to the meal just so he could try my latest cake recipe.

January 27, 2018 at 7:21 pmI like the name Sunday Suppers. We tend not to do a big dinner on Sunday evening. But it is a nice tradition. It’s the last time you spend with each other before another hectic week starts.

I, mean seriously who doesn’t love breakfast for dinner?
Growing up we always had a big Sunday dinner. Since we are Italian it was usually something like Lasagna or Pasta. I can even remember the smell of the Sunday Gravy simmering on the stove all day long!! Every once in a while we would have a Roast with potatoes but more often than not it was something Italian.

January 28, 2018 at 7:49 pmSometimes we would have Sunday suppers as I was growing up. My mom would typically make a light pasta, seafood or Mediterranean type dishes. She was fairly health conscious, so she always took that into consideration when planning what to serve.
