The Best Ever 5-Ingredient Cheesy Bread Bowl Recipe
I have to admit, I have not always been a football fan. When I was younger, I would hide away from my dad and brothers when they watched football on TV. And then I met my husband and he changed how I felt about the sport. Now I love it!
With the SEC in full swing and the big game just around the corner, I wanted to make one of my husband’s favorite game day recipes.
I love to make my The Best Ever 5-Ingredient Cheesy Bread Bowl Recipe because it is so stinking easy! Even the kids can help make it!
And with just 5 ingredients I get from Walmart, it is super easy AND affordable. In my playbook, this means we have a touchdown on my food score card! Be ready for this Bread Bowl Recipe to go quickly because it is a real crowd pleaser.
To make this 5-Ingredient Cheesy Bread Bowl Recipe, pick up these ingredients:
1 can of Manwich
1 can of RO*TEL tomatoes & green chilies
1 package of processed cheese, cut into 1″ cubes. OR you can use a jar or the packets of the cheese sauce or 2-3 cups of shredded cheese of your choice.
1 package of frozen meatballs
1 large piece of crusty sourdough (or comparable) bread
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Open one corner of meatball package and heat in microwave for 2 minutes. Dice or put in food processor and give it 3-4 pulses. In a medium sauce pan, add your Manwich, tomatoes, cheese and meatballs.
Cook over medium heat until the cheese is melted. While the mixture is cooking, slice off the top of the bread, and hollow it out and set this piece aside.
Bake bread for 10 minutes and remove from oven. Carefully pour your mixture into the bread bowl. Put back into the oven for 15 additional minutes.
Cut the top piece of bread into chunks for dipping and put in oven for 5-7 minutes. You want the chunks to be slightly crisp, but too hard!
Also, when you use the bread as your bowl, you have one less item to clean!! This means you are not running back and forth into the kitchen in between plays! I would much rather see that great play first hand than in an instant replay, right?
I love (and I am sure you do as well) into a dish. On game day, you need to be having a blast hanging with your favorite people and rooting for your team, not stressing out in the kitchen, right?!
I mean, who wants to be stuck in the kitchen washing dishes when everyone else is having all the fun, right?
So, head over to Walmart, pick up these ingredients and make this amazingly delicious 5-Ingredient Cheesy Bread Bowl Dip Recipe.
What is your favorite recipe when watching your favorite football match?
