Dr Pepper Snapple Group® sponsored this post. All opinions are mine and mine alone. For me, as I am sure for many moms, November and December are two of the busiest months of the year. I gladly take on the flurry of activities that fill my time at the end of each year. I love the holiday season. I thrive on it! I am a social gal, so I love planning and attending the parties that fill many hours between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
I also must admit, I do love the shopping too! There is something about walking up and down the aisles of my favorite store, shopping list in hand. It is of no consequence if I am searching for food, gifts, or household items. I love it! It is like a treasure hunt each time. And my daughter is just like me! We will often head to Walmart, split the shopping list and race to find our items before the other one does!
One thing is certain, no matter who has drinks on their list, we know what the family loves! We always stock up on 7UP, Canada Dry, and Squirt. 7UP is a soda I drank as a kid. I love the light and refreshing taste and the way the bubbles tickle my nose! One of my favorite party drinks is one I have been serving for years! This Spiced Rum Punch Recipe is the perfect holiday drink! And this signature drink isn’t just for adults! All I have to do is omit the rum and add a bit of cinnamon and the kids go crazy for it! That way, I just make two batches of the same recipe. This saves me time and money!
If there is one thing I don’t forget in the chaos of the holidays is giving back to others. My mother made sure we were taught this and I have done so with my own kids. One of my first memories of giving to others was with The Salvation Army. My mother would remind my sister and I to tuck some of our allowance into our purses when we went Christmas shopping. We would drop the money into the Salvation Army red kettle. My kids get as much joy from slipping their dollar bills into the slot in that kettle as I did.
I am so thrilled that Walmart and the Dr Pepper Snapple Group has made it easier than ever to give. Look for specially marked packages of 7UP, Canada Dry, and Squirt at Walmart- with every purchase there will be a donation to The Salvation Army. It is that easy! You just Buy-Drink-Give! Now that you know how to give back this holiday season: onto the Spiced Rum Punch Recipe!
Here is what you will need:
- 1 Shot Spiced Rum
- 4 oz. Pineapple Juice
- Splash of Orange Juice
- Splash of Pomegranate Juice
- 4 oz. 7UP
Directions:
- In a shaker filled with ice, pour spiced rum, pineapple juice, orange juice, and pomegranate juice.
- Shake gently
- In a fresh glass with ice, strain spiced rum punch. Top with 4 oz of 7UP.
- Garnish with cherries and a slice of orange
- Enjoy!
What is your favorite holiday drink you make with 7UP, Canada Dry or Squirt? I would love to hear in the comments below!

December 23, 2017 at 2:51 amNever had spiced rum before and I don’t even know why, I thought it was because I hate the smell of rum but it’s gin that I hate, so I guess this just right for Christmas.

December 26, 2017 at 3:38 pmI love Spiced Rum – Captain Morgans and Sailor Jerry are my spirits of choice, in fact. So I think I’d love this cocktail! Though I might have to swap the orange garnish for a lemon, as I’m not a fan of oranges lol x

December 26, 2017 at 6:33 pmThis year was more about chocolate martinis but we did use Canada Dry Ginger Ale for another drink. We mixed it with Fireball whiskey and topped it with whipped cream and sprinkled a bit of cinnamon on top. Really good. Over all it was a wonderful party.
